digital signage GLOSSARY

AV Orchestration

AV Orchestration (audio-video orchestration) is the capability to coordinate, in a synchronized and centralized manner, every device that makes up an audio-visual experience: displays, projectors, LED walls, audio systems, lighting, sensors and IoT actuators.

Where a traditional digital signage CMS manages content on screens alone, an orchestration platform treats the screen as one surface among many in a physical environment, and coordinates all elements as a function of a defined scenario. Livesignage is engineered as an AV orchestration platform from the start: through the Flow module, the no-code Experience Designer, and the add-ons Live Scenario and Live Sync, it enables multi-device scenarios where a single trigger — a touch, a sensor, a time of day, an external data point — simultaneously activates video on screens, lighting, audio and interactive mobile content on the visitor's phone.

Use Cases

AV orchestration is the strategic differentiator in complex installations:

- Immersive rooms and showrooms, where visual content must coordinate with ambient lighting and audio.
- Museums and brand experiences, where narrative paths span multiple physical spaces and surfaces.
- Sport venues and live events, where LED walls, stadium audio, stage lighting and mobile content must run in parallel.
- Premium retail and flagship stores, where the visitor enters an environment that responds to their presence in a coordinated way.
- Smart city and control rooms, where public visual communication systems integrate with other urban systems.
